What is the difference between subjects and topics?

Subjects are broad topics (math, science, social science, etc) while topics are more specific (geometry, biology, history). Think of subjects in broader terms like STEM or humanities, which help you figure out the realm of study a clip pertains to. Topics are like the art within the subject.
